Help me campaign today for a better tomorrow!
My name is TammyJo McCleney. Some of you may know me as TJ Mac.
I am excited to introduce myself as a dedicated and experienced law enforcement officer, running as a candidate for the position of Fayette County Constable, Pct. 4.
I have dedicated my adult life to public service and community safety.
A LIFETIME OF SERVICE
I have been a licensed Texas Peace Officer for 31 years. I hold a Master Peace Officer's license as well as certifications as a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and Classroom Instructor. I am also a Licensed DPS Firearms Instructor for LTC.
I started my law enforcement career in 1992 upon graduation from my first law enforcement academy with the Travis County Sheriff's Office where I graduated class president and valedictorian.
I then attended the Austin Police Department Academy, graduating and commissioning in 1993.
During my career at the Austin Police Department, I worked in many different areas. Some, but not all, included narcotics interdiction, vice, gangs, and background investigation/recruiting. I also served as a Police Academy Instructor, then eventually promoted to Detective.
While serving as a Detective, I worked as an Arrest Review Detective at the Travis County Corrections Facility and eventually went back on patrol as a Frank Sector Street Detective.
During my time at the Austin Police Department, I received 3 awards:
OFFICER OF THE YEAR - 1993
OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE - 1994
OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE AWARD - 1995
I eventually resigned my position at the Austin Police Department to focus on a family owned business.
I maintained my law enforcement license during this time and served as a Reserve Officer.
In 2014, I was hired by the Belton Police Department. I served as a Community Relations Officer, heading up the RUOK Program and the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program for kids. I also became the first female Firearms Instructor in the history of the department. While serving at the Belton Police Department, I received 2 awards:
OFFICER OF THE QUARTER - 2015
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE MEDAL - 2016
(The highest award an officer can receive and only given 3 times in department history.)
In 2019, I was given an opportunity to move closer to home and join the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. While serving in Fayette County, I worked as a night time patrol deputy and was involved with the Deputy Santa Program. One of my most heartfelt accomplishments, while at the Sheriff's Office, was the Pink Badge Program. While serving at the Fayette County Sheriff's Office I received 1 award:
DEPUTY OF THE QUARTER - SEPTEMBER 2020
I served with FCSO until October 2021.
During my time serving in Fayette County, I fell in love with the county and it's people. I sold my Lee County Ranch, where I had lived for 27 years, and moved to Fayette County (High Hill area) in 2022.
I currently serve as a Reserve Police Officer for the Moulton Police Department and have been employed there since April 2022.
Please see more about me on my "About Page".
My number one goal in running for Constable, is to protect our most precious resources: the elderly, our children and our rural way of life!
Not only will I fulfill the duties required of a Constable, my hope is to start an Elderly Care program here in Fayette County, similar to the one that I was a part of in Bell County. In this program, we work hand in hand with the elderly who live alone and develop a calling program to check on them everyday. This program is run solely with volunteers.
I will also focus on traffic enforcement and be available to assist the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Office and staff.
First and foremost, I love Fayette County and everything that it stands for. My time as a deputy here, working for Sheriff Korenek, introduced me to the amazing people and the rich heritage and traditions of Fayette County. I have been a country girl my whole life, raising miniature donkeys, cattle and goats. I currently own approximately 100 head of livestock in Fayette County. The citizens were very accepting of me when I first came here in 2019, almost as if I had been here my whole life. I quickly became active in the community, not only at work but in my personal life. I brought my Women's Shooting League, Guns and Glitz, to Fayette County where I have taught many classes on Firearms Training and Situational Awareness. Everything that I do in the community is geared towards keeping the community safe and teaching the citizens here how to protect themselves. I hope to continue that training and my classes should I be elected as Constable.
The date is approaching fast! Please register to vote and help me make history! We can do this Fayette County!
